Faith Lessons Activity Schedule Concepts 2012-2013

I Am Special! - The children will explore how each person in the world is unique and precious. They will learn that their bodies can do many things such as run, jump, laugh, sing, and even make silly faces! Feelings, friends, and families will also be touched on.

Capes and Wings - Children love to pretend they have super powers! Whether super sonic power comes from their bodies or their magic comes from a sparkley wand, children like to make believe their world is different than it really is. This theme will allow them to soar with their imaginations!

Book Worms on the Go - Learn about libraries and taking care of books. We will focus on a favorite children’s book author or illustrator each day during this theme.

Filling the Sleigh - Baking, stockings, gifts, candles, trees, and other symbols of December holidays are introduced through discussions, activities, and creative art projects.

Kids in the Kitchen - Kid-friendly kitchen tasks will be introduced in this theme! The children will prepare their own snacks and learn about nutrition and cooking through a variety of food-related games and activities.

Treats for My Sweet - This theme includes activities to celebrate Valentine’s Day and National Heart Health Month. Hearts, love, and sweet things will be abundant!

Bunches of Bunnies - Rabbits, eggs, chicks, and activities leading up to Easter fill this theme. Many bunny facts are included, as well as plenty of hopping and movement opportunities.

April Showers - Pull your sleeves up and prepare to be elbow deep in spring learning activities! Puddles, mud, storms, rain, clouds, and gardening are topics covered in this theme.

May Flowers - Prepare for summer with caterpillar, butterfly, gardening, and flower games and activities. “May Flowers” also includes a Mother’s Day celebration.

In the Meadow - Meadows are full of hidden wonders.  This theme includes topics such as grass, stones, bees, butterflies, caterpillars, ants, bunnies, rivers, and much more!

Fun in the Sun - Swimming, fishing, and other summer activities provide tons of fun throughout this theme. Outdoor and water table opportunities will keep children involved in learning.

Island Getaway - Wrap up summer with some sunny fun activities. The children will play in the sand and learn all about the beach. The theme concludes with a tropical luau. Aloha!
